Bike2Go Prices

There are two ways to use the bikes in Dumfries.

• By purchasing a day or half day ticket providing unlimited rentals for the period for a fixed fee (plus security deposit). A half day is 3 hours and costs £6. A full day is until midnight and costs £10. This can be done whilst at a bike stand or beforehand by calling 01387 280042
• Or by joining as a full member for £10 and paying for bike usage on a pay-as-you-go basis at the rate of £1 per hour, with a maximum charge of £2 per day.

The current prices for each of these options are as follows :

Day Ticket

If you are just visiting Dumfries, purchasing one or more day tickets for you and your family may be the best way.

• £10 for one bike
• £18 for two bikes
• £26 for three bikes
• £33 for four bikes
• £40 for five bikes

Notes

Day tickets can be purchased on the day or in advance. Bikes cannot be booked for use at any specific time. Bikes may not always be available at the nearest HUB. A refund will be given if no bike is available on the day.

Full Membership

If you are going to be a regular user of the bikes in Dumfries, either as a resident or visitor, then joining us as a full member provides you with 24 access to the bikes at a cheaper rate, as well as your own personal smart membership card and your own personal home page in hourbike.com to add credit, check rentals or update your PIN.

Membership for an individual is a one-off fee of £10 for which you will receive your smart card through the post. If you do lose your card we can replace it for a fee of £5.

Family memberships are also available:

• Family of 2 = £20
• Family of 3 = £25
• Family of 4 = £30
• Family of 5 = £35

You will be required to provide your address and other details on registration. No security deposit is required for members.

The first 30 minutes of every rental are free and thereafter the charge is £1 per hour or part hour. In order to encourage members to take the bike for longer rentals, we have now introduced a maximum daiily charge of £2, as long as the bikes are returned the same day. For example this means you could take a bike from the Bikle2Go hub at the rail station to your workplace, and return it in the evenign all for a single credit charge of £2 !

If yuo need to purchase furthe credits this can be done through your personal home page after logging in. £1 buys 1 credit (or slightly more if you purchase a higher number of credits in one go).

Corporate Membership

We also offer companies and organisations a special corporate membership. This involves pre-purchasing a number of hours which can be used by staff using a range of membership cards which we can supply. All credit used by the corporate cards is charged back to the corporate account. For more information on corporate offers, please contact us directly.

Dumfries and Galloway council have negiotiated a special rate for their staff to use thebikes. If you are a current employee of Dumfries and Galloway Council please contact the GoSmart team on 64133 or via gosmart@dumgal.gov.uk and they will provide you with all the details.

Notes

The rental time is the period between removing a bike from a HUB, to returning the bike to the same or different HUB. Call us to terminate your hire if the HUB is full (which we can confirm online).
