Cycle Blackpool

|
Welcome to Hire-a-Bike from Blackpool Council. This is Blackpool's own on street automated cycle hire system, supported by Blackpool Council and Blackpool Primary Care Trust, operated and managed by Hourbike as part of the Hourbike network. |
For detailed information on how the scheme works, please see the Info section. An interactive map of the bike hire locations with real time bike availability can be seen in the Map section. Just click on the icons to see the detail of that station. Please note that the bikes will not be available over the winter. We are currently in discussion with Blackpool Council on restarting the scheme as soon as possible, we will announce any news via this website. No member credits will expire over the period, and any member with an active temporary membership on 5th Nov will be able to access any remaining credit when the automated stations reopen.
In order to provide better access outside of working hours we have a telephone based sign-up and top-up system enabling new subscribers to rent bikes instantly 24 hrs a day.
The number for this is the usual hire-a-bike number, 01253 320 094.
This gives you a temporary membership card number which gives access to the bikes for 30 days with a starting 7 hrs of use, during which you can topup your hours, or upgrade to a permanent membership at your leisure. Existing members can continue to rent bikes using their membership card number and PIN whenever they like as normal and can call this number to topup using their membership card number and PIN.
A member of the team can be contacted for queries and emergency help by selecting option 4 when the system answers.
A full explanation of the Tariff, and membership options is described in the Prices section.
You can sign up for the scheme as a full member using the form in the Register section
* New * You can now also purchase a temporary membership for a particular day online, using the form in the Ticket section. This is not a full membership, so any unused credit will expire after 30 days.
Commonly asked questions are answered in the FAQ section.
And the lengthy but unfortunately necessary terms and conditions are listed in the Terms section.
If you have any further questions we can be contacted on:

We hope you have a fun and safe time cycling in Blackpool.
