Using proven technology from Europe, Hourbike is an innovative way to rent bicycles for any length of time from easily accessible secure bike stations or Hubs.
Hourbike is designed to allow quick easy access to bicycles whever an experienced customer or first time user. Keying in a ticket number or swiping a simple SMART card when used with the member's PIN starts the rental period—the bike is automatically released from its locking device ready to be ridden away. Bicycles can be returned to any Hourbike stand—not just from the location that the Hourbike was rented. The rental period then ends and credit is deducted from the members account according to rental charges applicable for that location.
Members can check availability and location of bikes and the amount of credit in their Hourbike account—all online.
Hourbike is a system that never sleeps—its availability 24 hours a day means that staff are not required to be on hand to manage the rental process, a major benefit for everyone involved.
